Adults and children love exploring the delightful world of wool. Using a variety of colors we will learn different ways to blend wool and make wet felted beads. After the basics are covered, we will begin the beautiful art of felt geode making. Good beginner project for learning wet felting and blending wool techniques. Families are encouraged to join. Be prepared to get a little wet. Waterproof aprons suggested. All materials and tools provided. $5 materials fee/pp. 1-2 hour class. Max 10. Ages 7+

This basic wet felting technique is simple enough for kids, but produces gem-like creations sophisticated enough for adults. Using wool roving you will form precious felted geodes and design your own unique pair of earrings! A short class with felting and jewelry instruction. A great intro to wet felting for beginners. Prior jewelry making experience helpful but.not required. Must bring jewelry needle nose and round nose pliers, and a minimum of one pair of earwires. Be prepared to get a little wet. Create a natural exfoliant and soften your skin with felted soap. This felt soap "sweater" protects your soap from disappearing in the shower. Now your soap bars will last longer! You will learn the art of blending wool and wet resist felting. A great beginner project. Each student must bring one 100% unscented olive oil soap bar, one large bath towel, and 2oz total of a minimum of two different colors of merino/corriedale wool roving. In this class you will learn wool carding, wet resist felting and prefelt design techniques. This pouch can be used for your cellphone, eyeglasses, or any fragile object in need of protection. Learn the fine art of sculptural felt and make your own custom made felt hat. Be led into the glorious art of handmade Millinery. We will use wool roving and learn wet resist felting techniques. Starting with creating a felt hood. Leading to blocking and shaping with the use of hat block molds and your head. You will leave this class with your very own felted couture hat! A great class for the intermediate felter seeking to advance their wet resist felting techniques. Prior wet felting experience mandatory. Cashmere, merino wool, and lambswool sweaters make for cozy and fashionable autumn or winter accessory.  Needle felting adds a touch of wool embroidery that makes for a one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art. Mikal will show you a tracing transfer technique they developed and customized. New and experienced needle felters are welcome. Both will be accommodated to advance their skills. Prior sewing experience necessary. Find 3x3 or smaller disposable images you wish to replicate to class. Or use our wildflower images or bird and leaf stencils. This project is inspired by the vast array of PNW wildflowers. Students will choose from a selection of local native flora to replicate. Working with wool fibers, resist wet felting and needle felt painting will be taught in this 2 week series. Mikal will show you a tracing transfer technique they developed and customized. Drawing and painting experience are unnecessary. Wool will be our medium. Return home with a hand felted pouch that is ornate and one of a kind. Needlefelt painting is a beautiful and tactile way to explore the dimensions, color tones, shading, and depth possible with wool. Learn how to upcycle sweaters into a warm and beautiful pair of glitten fingerless gloves. The option for a mitten top helps with those bitter cold days. Cashmere, merino wool, and lambswool sweaters make for cozy and fashionable autumn or winter accessory. Holes in your favorite jeans and sweaters? No problem. This class will teach you the basics of crochet and how to apply simple patches to repair clothing artfully. Please choose a small mending project appropriate for the time allotted. 3 hour class.

Come make a crown fit for a queen or king. In this class we will review over single, double, and triple crochet and the picot stitch. Learn how to size your crown for a child or adult. Prior crochet experience necessary. 4 hour class.

Finger knit your own warm and cheerful scarf, complete with fluffy cloud pom poms. 4 hour class.

This is a delightful project for young and old alike! Want to be a bear? Maybe you are feeling mousey? Does your inner cat want to be seen? Join in and make your very own animal head band. This is a great beginning project that does not involve using knitting needles at all! You only need two hands and a vibrant imagination. No prior knitting experience required. 3 hour class.
